Building memorials on Digital Granite — technology designed to outlast us all
Every life tells a story. Every story deserves to be preserved.
Life Memoriam exists to ensure that the memories of your loved ones — whether human or pet, whether they've passed or are creating their own legacy — are preserved with the permanence and dignity they deserve.
We're not building another social media platform or database-driven website. We're building Digital Granite — memorials designed to last 100+ years, surviving technology changes, company failures, and the inevitable march of obsolescence.
Technology built to outlast its creators
Your memorial is pure HTML, CSS, and images. No databases. No server-side processing. No dependencies. Just like a granite headstone doesn't need electricity, your digital memorial doesn't need constant maintenance.
Why this matters: WordPress sites from 2010 are broken. MySpace profiles are gone. But a simple HTML file from 1995 still works perfectly in any browser today.
Database-driven sites require constant updates, security patches, and migrations. Static HTML just... works. Set it once, and it works forever. No broken plugins. No security vulnerabilities. No database migrations.
Why this matters: When companies go bankrupt or abandon projects, dynamic websites stop working. Static HTML files keep working indefinitely.
Everything needed to display your memorial is in one package — HTML, CSS, images. No external APIs. No third-party scripts. No cloud dependencies. It's completely self-sufficient.
Why this matters: When external services shut down, dependent sites break. Your memorial doesn't depend on anything outside itself.
Built with semantic HTML5 standards that browsers have supported for decades and will support for decades more. Your memorial will render correctly in 2050, 2075, 2100+.
Why this matters: Technology changes, but HTML is the bedrock of the internet. Browsers in 50 years will still read HTML from today.
You can download your entire memorial as a ZIP file. Store it anywhere. Host it anywhere. It's yours forever. No vendor lock-in. No proprietary formats.
Why this matters: You're not trapped. If we go out of business, your memorial keeps working. You own the files.
Museums, libraries, and government archives use static HTML for long-term digital preservation. We use the same approach for your family's history.
Why this matters: If institutions trust it for centuries, it's good enough for your memorial.
How we guarantee 100+ years of preservation
Digital Granite makes your memorial technically permanent. But what about the business that hosts it? That's where Perpetual Care Status comes in.
Option 1: Pay once upfront → Instant Perpetual Care Status
Option 2: Pay annually for 10 years → Achieve PCS after Year 10
After achieving PCS, you never pay again. Your memorial is fully funded for long-term preservation.
When you achieve PCS, funds are allocated to our segregated Perpetual Care Fund — a restricted account dedicated solely to long-term memorial hosting and archival transfer.
This isn't our operating budget. It's a protected fund that ensures PCS memorials survive even if the company doesn't.
After 11 years in PCS status, your memorial becomes eligible for transfer to the LifeMemoriam Foundation — a planned 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to digital archival preservation.
The Foundation, funded by the Perpetual Care Fund, will host PCS memorials indefinitely.
If ProSynServ, Inc. dissolves, our Terms of Service legally require us to transfer all PCS memorials and 100% of the Perpetual Care Fund to the Foundation (or Internet Archive if the Foundation doesn't exist).
Your memorial is protected by contract, not just promises.
Most memorial sites make promises they can't keep
Four types of memorials, one platform
Create permanent digital memorials for those who have passed. Share their story with future generations who will never meet them but can still know them.
Honor beloved companions who crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Pet memorials are our most popular type — because the love for a pet is just as real as the grief of losing them.
Pre-plan your own memorial. Tell your story in your own words. Control your narrative and leave wisdom for those you love.
Create living tributes for retirements, milestones, and achievements. Celebrate people while they're still here to enjoy it.
Life Memoriam is operated by ProSynServ, Inc., a Wyoming corporation.
We're building a business that can outlive its founders. That means:
We're not funded by VCs demanding 10x returns. We're building a sustainable business that generates enough revenue to host memorials forever, not a company that needs to "exit" by selling to Facebook.
Our success is measured by memorials still online in 50 years, not by quarterly growth metrics.
